This is what readers are saying about Organized for Life...

"Thank you, Yvette, for allowing me to participate in your great site. Your letters have helped me spot areas I need to work on very badly. I moved my mother in with us three years ago and since she insisted on bringing most of her things with her, I had to clear out a lot of my hobby and craft supplies. I have "stuffed" all of them into two other already-filled-to-the-brim rooms, but keep procrastinating in sorting, tossing and storing things because I can't really decide which ones I want to pursue. I've been taking a "Scarlet view" of it all...you know, I'll think about that tomorrow?...but after visiting an extremely disorganized relative, I think I have a better chance of getting back to the task. Wish me luck and again thank you for all the good advice."

Mary Fulton, New Caney, TX USA

"Dear Yvette,

Let me start by telling you how much I've enjoyed your book, Get Myself Organized.  Having read many books on organization, I found your most relatable to me.  I love your writing style and your common sense approach to staying on top of things.  I'm looking forward to your next newsletter.

Sincerely,"

Audrey Nelsen, Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA

"Yvette,
I really enjoyed your book. I have read many organizing books and I am always trying to become more efficient in doing things. The thing I liked in particular about your book that I have not come across before was the message that "I am doing this for myself" When I was young we had a very orderly family. My dad was in the navy and used to having everything very orderly. I only had one sister and neither one of us was particularly messy. We had one dog and no other pets. Everything stayed organized and relatively clean without a lot of work. I have 4 kids, 2 of them boys. We live on a farm with 5 horses, 3 dogs, 12 or more cats, 2 rabbits which are always having babies, and any number of snakes and lizards or frogs or salamanders that the children have caught. We live on a dirt road which is always muddy or dusty and seems to find its way into the house regularly. On top of this I home school the kids so I spend a lot of time doing this and also the kids are always here--messing the house up!! I would not change our life for one like my childhood, but I would like my house to be as self-cleaning as my mom's. It seems that I am the only one that cares whether or not the house is neat. For the first time I had an organizing person tell me that instead of trying to change them I need to remember I am doing this for myself. That is really the truth of it. I love a neat clean house. I get frustrated when I can't keep it that way. Now I say to myself, when I am cleaning the same entry rug for the 5th time that day that I am doing it because I want it clean. The kids did come in the door they were supposed to come in and wiped their feet and removed their shoes and even put them on the shelf, so they did their part. This has really revolutionized the way I feel when I clean. I am so grateful for your advice.
The other thing I liked was that you broke the organizing down into the decluttering, then organizing, then deep cleaning. This has revolutionized the way I try to teach the girls to go through their stuff. I used to think it all had to be done together. This is very inefficient and the kids lose interest and make more mess before they ever make progress. With this method I give the kids a specific part of their room, a drawer, desk, etc. and only ask them to toss the junk and relocate whatever does not belong there. This is manageable for them and there are instant rewards, even if it is not dust free at this point, they can stop and still see progress. It is also not likely that they will just junk it up again, knowing that the decluttering is now done. This method also gives them time, a day or two, to live with the space before assigning specific things to it. It allows time to purchase containers if needed. It also allows them opportunity to toss the stuff they held back in the beginning and then decided it could go. Finally, it becomes a pleasure to deep clean the newly organized area instead of a dreaded chore midway through a gross organizing job. I am very excited with the book and information. Keep writing. I really enjoy your newsletter."

Bev, Waterford, PA, USA

"Dear Yvette,

I'm still busy reading but have already put a couple of things into practice.

Just to let you know that I almost missed my flight last week reading your book!

Your book is excellent and is very simplistic and easy to follow.  I've started doing some changes in my personal life and realized it was easier to read the book but I will persevere.

Thank you"

Sandra, Johannesburg, South Africa

"Hi,

I am still enjoying the book and reading more than doing at the moment but have implemented a few little things so far.

I feel the main reason I became interested and decided to buy your book was due to my clutter both mine and my kids' clutter is becoming a huge burden and really getting me down. I think the room rotation and just the thought of only using half hour at a time is more appealing to actually getting it done than completely turning one room upside down and being in utter chaos and not wanting to continue with it!

I do have a quote that actually my daughter quoted to me when she knew what I was reading - she is nearly 7 and said she will help me de-clutter so she can have friends over more often and know where everything is and maybe do a car boot with the items she doesnt want anymore. Thats providing her 3 year old sister doesnt get to them first!! Your book has inspired me to slowly de-clutter in room rotation and as I dont have too much spare time can work this in nicely and I am looking forward to having an orderly house back again!!! Thanks so much."

Amanda, Jersey, Channel Islands, UK

"Hi

I am enjoying your book. It has really helped me, especially meal plans section. Now I always have something prepared at home and most importantly on time. I find grocery and other shopping easier this way. Planning my mails has made me even spend wisely and usefully. I cant thank you enough for this. The part where you insist getting up on time, dish washing and Washing, i simply follow those now and I cannot thank you enough for that advice."

Priya, Cape Town, South Africa

"Hi Yvette,

I've finally finished reading your book.  It was great and I'm going to start making those daily/weekly lists after I write to you!

Now I recognize that my auto-pilot wasn't programmed properly.  I will make changes so I'm following a thought out, planned course so I know where I'm going and will stop flying round in circles.

I found this book gave me common sense guidelines to house keeping that I had never learned or asked about when I first left home.  I'll be passing on what I learned to my children and look forward to being more at peace with my home and family (instead of being peeved the cleaning fairies didn't show again).

Tracy, Kalgoorlie, WA, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I just thought I'd write a "Thank you" for your e-book.  It has been a life saver.  Only starting this week it has helped a lot.  It's funny how I knew all that needed doing and the constant planning and (you know the rest)....You make it easier to start and you have taken the tonne of pressure off.

Thank you again.  Life is great when organized."

Hayley Richardson, Sydney, Australia

"Hey Yvette,

I love it.  Thank You.  I'm implementing and its actually making a difference already.

I'm less stressed, clearer in the mind, and I have a tincy bit of 'free time' starting to appear.

It really just hit home, the penny dropped, just how important organisation is - just how it changes how you feel, operate, enjoy your day.  Its kind of like sifting through the rubble and starting to see some daylight - if that makes any sense.  I can see I'm going to start having time very soon for the actual things that are important - like reading and writing with my 5 year old, I want to start studying again - that now seems possible."

Tracey, Sydney, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

This is the first book I am reading chapter by chapter like 'holy book' out of 100's of personality development books/ebooks which I read so far.  It's really getting on with my rhythm.

I was amazed by the changes of my approach towards life.  Your book is really super practical and easy.  I found that I had been a 'perfectionist' in my life so far.  Thank you so much."

Krishna, Sharjah, UAE

"Dear Yvette,

Am beginning to work through the Get Myself Organized strategies in your
book,

It makes so much sense - thankyou - it's like finally being able to see the
trees after being surrounded by a forest of things that could do with
attention.

As a  wife with grown up children all left home, working fulltime and
studying post-grad, it has sometimes felt like a balancing or juggling act.

I  have enjoyed  the way you gradually structure the  organisation
process -so thanks in advance - these are early days but I have a sense of
being on the right track and already feel a rise in confidence from knowing
that it will get more organised and manageable  as I stick at it.

Keep up the great work"

Christine Riddy, Feilding, New Zealand

"Yvette,

There is nothing like moving home to get organised.

In the last two weeks we have moved to a duplex, installed our mildly handicapped daughter in one to ease her into independent living and moved into the other during major renovations.  It has rained solidly for two weeks, particularly heavily on the day of the move.  We have not established outside areas for the dogs yet so have had a very wet Irish Wolfhound and Labrador inside for most of that time (on ivory tiles - thank God its tiles and not carpets).  However, all the confusion and stress (plus a smaller kitchen) has strengthened my resolve to simplify - I have chucked out 90% of my 30 year collection of plastics, glass etc. etc.  Now we are using our "good" glasses for that glass of wine and guess what - wine tastes better out of crystal.  Also gone are the boxes inherited from Mum when she went into a retirement village and couldn't part with her memories and left them with me because I had the space.  Gone are the collection of antiquated Christmas decorations.  All the woollen blankets saved (we all use doonas) have gone to the Lord Mayors Winter Appeal (Australia).  So far the Salvation Army has received 10 boxes of crockery, pans etc.  Anything I haven't used for 2 years has gone, some things I didn't even know I had.

My husband is a builder and gone are all the bits of timber, doors, windows that might come in handy one day (except for one piece of cedar that is his retirement project).

Gone is the oversize furniture that fits the entire family around (bought for the annual occasion the whole family was together) and we found we can move around this house freely.

Gone is ALL the tarnished silverware (except for the kids christening cups and they have been sent to them to look after).

The mending box is empty - most of the stuff had been in there for years waiting to be mended - tossed it all.

The emotionally kept but otherwise worthless ornaments inherited from my great grandmother are gone except for about 3 pieces.

Gone are all the old dog collars and tags kept over the years of faithful pets now passed on.

Gone is everything I can't fit into, haven't worn for 12 months as well as half my husband and daughter's wardrobes.

So, despite the trauma and damp dogs, I am on the way as long as I can keep the pace up.

Thank you for a wonderful site and book."

Meg, Newcastle, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I needed your book to push me to get motivated.  I have always been great a
buying "organising products" eg plastic tubs / files etc - just getting down
to it is hard.  I can't function when in a mess, so for example I have put
my paperwork into files (as you suggested) before I can attempt to organise
it.  Also I have just made the bed - even though I will wash sheets - just
so I can operate in neatness and not get bogged down!! Thanks for the
motivation."

Jenny, Perth, Australia

"Hi

I would like to say - a BIG THANKS for giving me a great insight of an 'organised' person! I realise how important it is to review my errands lists daily! It makes my life a lot EASIER!!! I wish I could have read your book and e-mail 8 years ago!!! I have been struggling with my personal paperwork as well as cases with 9 different solicitors! My life is a lot better now and still keep updated with my solicitor!

Many many many thanks! How can I thank you enough?!

Warm Regards"

"It is time to thank you and let you know that I am on my way to a more controlled life.  I still have a lot to do, but so far I am

1 Finding one home for all things that I want to keep. I had too many places for some items.

2 Opening my mail right away and putting a reminder into my computer calendar so that I know when the bills are due.  I will no longer wait for a day to pay the bills but do them a few days before they are due.

3 Opening my mail near the paper recycling container so that it can go out for pick up without having to find it first.  And all addresses and private information go to the paper shredder."

Bee, Sioux Falls, SD, United States

"Hi Yvette,

I have just finished reading your book.  I printed it off as I enjoy reading
and will often have a coffee while shopping and then read some.

Initially when I was receiving your email tips I didn't think I'd need to
purchase the book as I was already organising my house/work/life (this had
been a very slow process, for the past few months).  Then I read where you
said that if you didn't work out why the clutter existed then it would only
come back again.  Well, I'm still not sure exactly why, but I think it is
linked in with respecting myself.  I'll have to work on that one....

In the meantime, I have enjoyed reading your book.   Now I can arm myself
with lists and schedules, so I can divert the distractions.  I work from
home so distractions come easily!

I also realise that if I wish to outsource my jobs, than I also need a type
of instruction manual with a realistic time frame attached.  This will help
future workers.

All of this is now possible because I have read and absorbed your book.
I'll still need to go back and re-read some of it to ensure I'm covering
everything I need to.  But for now, I'll start implementing the ideas, and
go from there.

Thanks so much.

Regards,"

Vickii, Perth, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I love your book!  I am still busy reading it and can't wait to really get stuck into my new organized life!

I am a hopeless perfectionist and can relate to everything you say in the book.  The hardest part will definitely be to stay in the time frame for each task.  When I decide to clean the kitchen bench top, I usually end up cleaning the oven inside out and wash the windows and wash the floor with a toothbrush, all in one go... and then I am usually late for work!  Vacuum cleaning is a nightmare because it takes me ages to finish because I end up vacuuming the sofas and the walls and the ceiling corners.  I am wondering if I should clean the whole house from top to bottom first (maybe on the weekend) and then carry on with the routine and stick to the time allocated to each task."

(Yvette here - the answer to this question was NO!)

"Anyway, I wanted to send you a message, 'cause it feels like I know you personally!  Thanks for a great book and helping me sort out some crucial points."

U. Grobler, Wellington, New Zealand.

"Hi Yvette,

I've enjoyed reading your e-book.  I have to say its a real comfort to read it.  A lot of it is common sense ideas, and it reminds me a lot of the folklore that my mother used to tell me over the years, as she is quite organised in her household. Whereas I was the opposite. I love to read your thoughts, as it inspires me when things are down.  Thank you and keep up the good work with your project."

Ida, Brisbane, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I’m so glad that I purchased your e-book and will be forever grateful to you for writing it. I’m finding that the simple act of glancing at my ‘daily routines’ is keeping me in check and motivated….even though a lot of the things have become second nature, just to be reminded to take the chicken out of the freezer to defrost in preparation for dinner, rather than half cooking it in the microwave at 5.30pm is priceless! A wave of completion washes over me once the morning routines (including my now daily exercise) are done and then I shift a bit of focus onto the de-clutter and clean. I’m only about 8% of the way through my home but can see the results very clearly (no more pink grout in my shower) and vow that this is the new me (and our new home) and am even looking forward to maintaining it all. It’s quite bizarre, as I’ve found that more of my home is cleaner and I seem to have more time for ‘me maintenance’….I had a lovely foot soak last night, have been exercising in the mornings, have caught up with more family & friends, am booked in to have a check up with my doctor in a few days and the 2 little ones will be checked over by the community nurse tomorrow (which was quite a bit overdue) ….all because I made time ..…many thanks to you!

Once again Yvette, thank you for your part in helping me feel better about myself and my home.  Have a great day, 'cause I am!"

Tracey, Dural, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

What I have read "speaks to me". Right from the start.. what I am discovering is that I am not a born disorganized person.. but I do have a problem making decisions and your step by step presentation has brought about changes in my thought process already.  You know this all comes at an interesting time because with the side effect of chemo therapy.. what we call "Chemo brain" is created a special challenge for those of us trying to complete tasks without wandering off into a myriad of other distractions. I have no doubt there are a bunch of us cancer survivors facing this problem. Your e book is yet another support in getting on with my life in some very
basic ways that have become somewhat more difficult due to this
hopefully temporary condition."

Julia, Santa Cruz, CA, USA

"Yvette's e-book helped me to realise I wasn't as disorganised as I thought.
I valued her perspective, as a mother of young children. She reminds us that
the top priority is to get plenty of sleep and to allow time to relax and
calmly handle the interruptions children always bring to the best laid
plans.  I have no children but I found her ideas very relevant to improving the
quality of my lifestyle.

Her writing tone is warm, encouraging and very readable.  It's about doing more with less stress, feeling powerfully in charge of day to day time management."

Sue, Wellington, New Zealand

"My motivation levels have increased immensely because I now have a
'plan of action'."

Shanda, Victoria, Australia

"Dear Yvette,

I really loved your book. I was very nervous about ordering an e-book and despite all your reassurance was afraid it might just be a scam! But I was feeling so bad about things that I decided it was worth the risk  and am really pleased I did as the book is even better than I expected.

The main and unexpected benefit was your insight into what can lead to disorganization ie the contents of Chapter 2. This led me not only to recognise how disorganization was the result of some psychological issues but that it was also aggravating them! It even helped me re-appraise how I deal with my teenage daughter!

I liked the chapters on daily routines as I guess they seem really achievable and just having a list seems to ensure they get done. ie if I am feeling tired or fed-up, previously I would just do nothing, now I just go to the next thing on the list as it requires no effort in decision making.

Best Regards,"

Frances Lack, Penzance, Cornwall, UK

"Thanks so much for your book.  The tone of your writing is kind humorous and uplifting.  I've already been able to implement some of your suggestions, but today I needed to remind myself of what you said -- that I already made the decision to get out of bed so don't think about how down you are (I am lately) just get up.  Your words are going to be with me a long time, because I needed help in some very concrete areas of my life.  Again, thanks so much.

Best,"

L Johnston Filios, Iowa City, IA, United States

"Hi Yvette

I did enjoy the book and I've read it through a couple of times.

I'm still working on getting myself more organised in some areas but I have already implemented the menu planning.  It took a couple of hours to think about and sort out the first one which I did for a whole month but it has really made so many things easier, the shopping, organising the freezer, no more having to think about what to have, the children think it's great they know exactly what they will be getting, and my daughter has even started cooking a few of the meals for me so it is ready when I get home from work.  She knows what needs to be cooked without having to wait until I arrive home and then start!  It's a miracle...

Kind regards,"

Trudie, Fleet, Hampshire, UK

"Hi Yvette

Thanks very much for your book.  I really enjoyed reading it and have already started to get organised.

I bought the book as I needed a plan/strategy to get going.  I have a 12 month old baby and am working 4 days a week.  It is very hard to find time to get everything done - and for months now tasks and mess would continually build up and become overwhelming.

The thing I liked most was the practical and do-able plan of action.  Breaking it down into routines and room rotations helps to make the process of becoming organised achievable.  You don't need full days of uninterrupted time to make progress - 15 or 30 mins here and there can work.  I also like the quick clean suggestion - I was always overwhelmed by the task of cleaning the floors as I thought it had to be done perfectly and so I rarely did it and only vacuumed.  With a crawling baby it is essential and so I have started the weekly express clean.  I am working on menu planning and a master shopping list now too - something I have also thought would be great, but never had the inclination to do it.

After reading your book, I feel a bit more in control and inspired to get organised.  Thank you!

Kind regards,"

Lucy Harel, Wollstonecraft (Sydney), Australia

"Hello Yvette!

Just to say a HUGE thank you for the e-book!  It's absolutely marvellous and EXACTLY what I needed!   A new time has come in the Holmgren household!  Bless you for doing such a fab job - I LOVE your sense of humour, I think it's because you're Australian (I'm English but married to a Swede - Swedish women are INCREDIBLY house proud and I feel like the ugly duckling!

Love,"

Jacqui Holmgren, Norrkoping, Sweden

"Dear Yvette,

Thank you so much for your book. I believe it should be mandatory reading for anyone contemplating leaving home and or getting married.  Blokes should equally read this manual just to get an idea of what we women do.

My daughter is 25 , just married and is expecting her first child in 6 months. I have been trying to help her organize her home, finances and health. Three most important things in life not necessarily in that order. You can talk all you want, you can go over to her house and do a massive clean up for her, you can organize her bills and have her in some state of calm and cleanliness. This however always ends with the same result - failure - because I am doing it for her.

When I discovered your book I read it and the first forty pages were absolutely brilliant!  You have managed to get to the real core of the problem we all have within us and your sense of humour makes it all bearable. We have to fix ourselves first.

I sent the E book to Lana the next day.  (By post after I printed it out!)  She rang me while reading it and the change has been phenominal.  Once we realise that we are doing it for ourselves and we cannot change people around us and we not responsible for their mess it is  easy. With luck we can influence them to some degree and they may come over to the "Organized Side". I am very pleased to say that Lana is now well on her way to a much calmer, and organized life with a massive boost to her confidence and self esteem.

Thank you so much!

Regards,"

Jayne McLean-Hodgson, Brisbane, Australia

"I have been reading the e-book by sections, and so far, I think it is wonderful and gave me a lot of good ideas that I want to put in practice.  Your section on feeling good about yourself was really good.  I am learning to take better care of myself.  The section on self-image was excellent too.  I thought that you were writing to me.  And the sentence "you deserve to treat yourself well, and being organized is a sign of self respect" make me think a lot because I never saw it that way.

Sincerely,"

Consuelo, Brisow, VA, USA

"Hi Yvette,

I think that your book is absolutely brilliant!!  Reading it is like reading my own thoughts but all neatly arranged and concrete!

I am just starting up as a Professional Organiser.  Your book is a fantastic kick start for me.  Thank you."

Margie Theakston, Canberra, Australia

"I LOVE YOU! (in a non-threatening purely fan-based way!!)

I've been reading your book - I action things as I go along - and it is the single best investment I have ever made, better than the house we are building I say!

I have problems with anxiety attacks and depression and have to take medication daily.  After finding your book I am making huge leaps forward with my life.  I have moved to part-time work for a while to help me get back on track but your book has really helped.  It came at the right time as our house will be finished in 6 weeks and I am using this time to set up all my lists/files/goals and completely declutter the house and set the new house up in all your fantastically recommended ways.  I can do my weekly household in 2 hours on a Tuesday morning now, I never have more than 3 things a week to iron, if I have ironing and I don't feel like things are getting on top of me.

It is one of those books I will refer to in years to come - should I ever feel a little overwhelmed.

Thank you for writing it.

Michelle Peterson, Brisbane, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I have really enjoyed your book.  I have been busy trying to put things into practice i.e. allocating time for everything and following it through.  The book actually broke down daily routines and put them in sequence that really makes sense.  The points made are directly applicable and results are immediately obvious.

I have read quite a few materials on getting organised, managing your time, etc but this definitely stands out because of its daily relevance and comprehensiveness.  My suggestion is for anyone that wants to really benefit from this book is take it in steps."

H. A. A, London, England

"Dear Yvette,

I just can't begin to tell you how much your book and newsletters have changed my life!  I LOVE reading your writing style.  The newsletters keep me focused on the things that are important to me. Rather than just a how to book, your moral attitude comes through very well on how to live one's life to the fullest and the best.  Thank you so much for deciding to reach out."

Sincerely,

Jen Jameson, Portland Orgegon, USA

"Thank you very kindly for your very speedy response to my e-mail and thank you as well for your words of advice.

I was most impressed with your introduction to getting organized.  I was quite at the point of desperation, but your words spoke to me eloquently and seemed to get to the heart of my problem.

There is just ssoooooo much information in this e-book, that while I am "running" through it, grabbing tidbits here and there, I just know I will be reading it more than once.  Every page had some insight on it that I take careful note of.

Your section in the e-book on feeling good about yourself was a serious lift.  Yes, I did go out a buy myself some lipstick to start.  Yes, I am beginning to see myself in a different light.  Someone who really does matter in my life.  Yes, I am learning to take better care of myself.

Things are going rather well, I must say.  I am still working on your book, and yes, it really is a huge benefit.  I am now going thought it and highlighting a lot of what I consider quite important, and believe me, many of the pages have more than a few lines highlighted.  That, of course is just the way it should be.

In reading through your e-book I have found the practice of day to day events being guided – naturally.  Yes, there are still a great many messes in the house, but, what has been tidied is staying tidied, and that was so important.  There is no doubt in my mind that you were heaven sent."

Elizabeth, Winnipeg, Canada

"Hi Yvette,

Just to give you some feedback about your newsletter and ebook.  I am an organised person who allowed disorganisation to take over my life for just over 20 years.  In fact I was "too organised" which attracted a lot of "criticism/attention" from others around me, so I sub-consciously let it slide to my detriment.  My mission now is to reclaim it.  I am now taking control of my life in many areas, and have since learned that my greatest strength became my greatest weakness because I took it for granted.  In doing so, I have noticed the synchronicity with the theme of your newsletters and the things I focus on the be re-organised.  Meal planning has been the focus for me this week and lo and behold a newsletter on meal planning.  So thank you for being so in tune with the messages of the Universe and supporting me along my journey to reclaim my gifts and achieve my dreams.

Maureen, London, England

"Hi Yvette,

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your articles and I have been reading your ebook.  It has helped me VERY much.  I am very grateful that I found your website.  Before I found your website I was getting so frustrated with myself because I knew I needed to get organized but just didn't know how and that overwhelmed me even more.  You have given me direction to improving my life.  I feel that everyone who is "organizationally challenged" ;0) should get the chance to read your book.  You write in a very understandable way and the humor you incorporate in you book makes it easier to relate to.  It makes me feel that I am not the only one with this problem and that encourages me to take your advice.

Thank You so much!"

Charity Wittman, Cody, Myoming, USA

"Yvette:

Wow.  In reading this, I was blown away by your quiet truth.  I've been spending much time on self-analysis lately, and your simple truth about how we can view discipline struck a mega chord in me.  I realized, while reading, that I have always thought, "I have to choose between achieving my goals and being happy".  I never realized that I could be happy AND achieve my goals!!

I am consciously incorporating this into my goals for weight loss.  I will get back to you in a few months as the changes occur.

As for the e-book, I am floored with its fabulousness.  I have been on holiday for the past month, so my sister has been reading my copy, and my dad has given your website to a couple people.  I love that you talk so much about internal motivation and reasons for disorganisation....that is very important, in my eyes.  I've learned that before I make a change I must understand WHY I'm doing it or else the change will be temporary at best.  You put things so clearly and so simply, I keep having AHA!! moments as I read it.

So thank you for listening to your calling, going out on a limb, and creating your own business.  I sing your praises to all I meet!  And I look forward to seeing these changes -- however small -- I am making, under your suggestion, manifest in my life.

Best wishes,"

Megan Phillips, Vancouver, Canada  www.meganphillips.com

"Hi,

I am still reading the book.  I am seeing myself in a lot of what you say in the beginning.  I was always so stressed out and overwhelmed by everything I thought I had to get done, completely, in one day.  No one pressures me, but me.  I am glad to know I am not crazy, or lazy.  I have to take baby steps to do this, so I am taking my time reading.  The advice and the knowledge in the book is extremely helpful and gives me hope.  I've already found confidence in decision making.  I had no self esteem whatsoever, but I'm working on it.  I haven't quite jumped into cleaning regularly yet, but I am getting there.  I would get so overwhelmed every morning, thinking I had to clean the house top to bottom, perfectly, that I would just go back to bed and set the alarm in time for me to go pick my kids up from school.  And I hated that feeling.  I got depressed over it.  I've made a million lists thinking that would fix everything....ok so now I'm treating you like a therapist.

Thanks for the book and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling like I am/was."

Jennifer Hollums, Griffin, GA, U.S.

"Hi Yvette,

The effect of your e-Book on me has really been quite profound.  Since most of it spoke directly to me like some sage counsellor who had been sent to inspire me out of the doldrums, this should come as no surprise!  I now clearly see my domestic nightmare as a symptom of the struggling person I have become and I can't wait to get to the point where I have worked through all the stages you suggest and feel myself empowered again.

I am full of hope that all you have said in your e-book will come to fruition in my life.  I can now see why thing have gotten so out of hand and it isn't because I am a despicable sloth, I just didn't have the insights I needed to wage war on bad habits and shabby attitudes, but you have provided those now.  You can't imagine how grateful I am to you.

Best regards,"

Pam Kelly, Mittagong, NSW, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I thoroughly enjoyed your book.  I tackled it by a quick read through it all, then going back to chapter one and working my way through, working out my routines, systems and room by room routine, assigning days for everything.  I have now started on my lists, planning whilst sitting in the garden in the sunshine.  I love the structured format given, to get myself organized for life without obsessing and relaxing with less than 100% perfection.

Thank you"

Mandy Gerrard, Bristol, United Kingdom

"Hi Yvette,

I found your website and decided after reading some tips that I had to buy your e-book.  This is a first for me, I have never yet bought an ebook online, so kudos to your site!

Obviously you touched a big chord in me: although my house isn't as bad as something they might show on TV, we (husband, 2 school age kids) live in a dusty old house with badly laid out rooms and few cupboards, and perpetual attempts at renovation.  I feel so overwhelmed by the clutter and chaos that I am either exhausted or panicky so I get nowhere except for re-arranging the dust.  I am now also allergic to house dust and have been coughing for 3 months now after a minor chest cold, exacerbated by the dust.  Did I mention dust?

I pore over your book each evening.  I haven't quite finished it yet, but I am starting t make (more (and more sensible)) lists and plans.  I feel like I can really take control and get this sorted!  There is a noticeable difference already.

Thanks again,"

Theresa Hargitai, Cape Town, South Africa

"Dear Yvette,

Regarding the e-book that I purchased from you, I would like to thank you for taking the time to write it.

I have always seemed to lack the organizational skills required for things to be ticking over the way I would like.  Since reading your book and implementing your suggestions, I have seen a massive difference in my life already.  For the first time (in a long time), I feel that I have a day to get on with.  Since becoming a full time mum and homemaker I have felt out of action, as I love to go out to work.  I didn't have the skills required to make home life work until now, thanks to you.  My home looks better, feels more peaceful, I no longer fear anybody calling around and as for the pile of post that I was collecting in a haphazard manner, well its gone.  I can find things, and I haven't even finished yet.  I look forward to the next job, knowing its another step on the way to an even tidier, cleaner house.  So thank you.

I think one of the most useful parts for me was decision making.  Being a Libran, I seem to particularly struggle with this but I listened to what you said and stopped questioning my decisions and feel that I have moved on.  Also, the fact that everything is laid out step by step means that you don't actually have to make any decisions if you don't want to, they've already been made by you, which was extremely helpful.

Once again, thank you, I have been making lists, rules, plans etc for years now.  Thank goodness you seem to have it all worked out.

Yours gratefully"

Julie, Manchester, England

"Dear Yvette,

I wanted to thank you for your ebook, newsletters and daily tips.  I purchased the ebook in April after visiting my cousin, who has a very clean and organized home.  When I got back I felt depressed and frustrated.  My laundry was overflowing out of the closet, the dishes where stacked up in the sink on the counter and on the table.  The house was a mess and I didn't even know where to begin.

I started scanning the Internet hoping to find a way to "get myself organized".  I found articles, suggestions and "helpful" hints. Soon I was printing things out and writing down notes only to find myself spending more time on the Internet and writing than actually accomplishing the tasks that lye ahead. The problem was everything sounded great,  but I was never motivated and getting organized still seemed unattainable. Then when I was near the point of self implosion I found your website.  When I read your home page, I kept thinking...this is me.  Everything from missing important deadlines, late fees because I hadn't opened the mail in months, never being able to stick to a budget, funky smells coming from the kitchen and bathrooms to purchasing new clothes because all of our clothes were dirty.

We had $80 dollars in our account, but I knew I had to buy the book. Despite not having very much money I purchased it...never looking back.

I began reading and suddenly felt a new sense of determination and focus.  For the first time in my adult life I knew I could do it.  I started small.  Taking it one step at a time.  Soon the dirty laundry pile was disappearing, the funky smells had gone away and I was actually on time to several appointments.  I have even started utilizing a calendar and keeping track of our finances.  I now have a savings...it's small, but what an accomplishment.

One story that I want to share happened about a month after purchasing your ebook.  My husband was training for his EMT certification and we had to travel to the city where he could do his 12 hours at an ER.  When we returned home my husband and sister-in-law went to class and I went to work at cleaning out the car and washing the dirty clothes.  When they returned from class my husband informed me that he had offered a couple of students his scrubs for use at their shift.  Both he and my sister-in-law suggested that we hang up the scrubs and spray them with a fabric spray to "freshen" them up.  I informed them that the scrubs had already been washed and were folded and put away.  Anyone that knows me, knows that cleaning out the car so quickly is a miracle in and of it's self.  Both he and my sister-in-law looked at me incomplete disbelief.  They were completely blown away, which goes to show how my disorganization has effected everyone around me. It also shows how the changes I have made have wowed everyone around me.

I still have set backs, but I am finally beginning to gain control of my laundry, my bills, my junk and more importantly my life.  Your ebook and monthly newsletters have reminded me of what my desires are and how to obtain them.  My life is slowly changing in so many wonderful ways...each day I wake up excited to see what amazing things will happen.  Even better I now have the time to enjoy them.

Thank you so much!"

Christy B, Alamo, NV USA

Thank you for inspiring me!

"Hi Yvette,

I was a totally disorganised disfunctional mother until I found your website.  Bought the book and life has been, on the whole, flowing more freely for myself.  Every home should have them, it makes so much sense and very practical.  I now no longer have to stress about anything.

Thanks mate,

A new improved aussie mum, with a whole new purpose in my life.  Keep the emails coming."

Michelle, Branxton NSW, Australia

"I have enjoyed what I have read so far and am finding it very helpful, especially the sections on Procrastination (so easy to do!), Decision making (My nickname is Mrs Ambivalent I am told by a friend) and Motivation.  It is helping me realise that positive habits are the answer and working in small 'boxes' is also very useful.

However I felt a weight lift off my shoulders when I read what you said about tasks never finishing!  At first sight that seems negative, but it actually takes away the burden of feeling that one has failed if one does not get everything organized and decluttered by the time set!

So, many thanks for that Yvette too, and thank you for being realistic and reassuring - unlink some rather forbidding books on decluttering etc that seem to be written by Superwoman!

All good wishes and kind regards,"

JKF, Sheffield, UK

"Hi Yvette,

I am on 'vacation' for the moment and have finally had some time to start reading your e-book and I think it's great.  Many times while reading it, I feel as though you must've been in my kitchen or bedroom seeing me being buried away in my clutter and frustration.  You actually have 'hit it on the head' by saying that we have to start with how we feel and how important it is to feel good about ourself.  The breakdown of your lists are really helpful and it is even helping me to think in a better order as well, if that makes any sense.  Thank you very much for sharing these tips with others.  You are an inspiration.

Sincerely,"

MAM, Quebec, Canada

"Hello Yvette,

I've finally got your book and it was well worth the wait.  You've got some excellent ideas and I can easily see how they can make for an easier life.  I can't wait to start implementing them.

Yours sincerely,"

Shelly Davies, Lower Gornal, West Midlands, England

"Hi again. I just read the book. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Now I have a sense of hope AND a realistic plan of attack. Two things I have wanted and needed, for so long.  THANK YOU!!!"

Jill Madison, WI, USA

"Dear Yvette,

The most powerful part for me so far is the statement that getting organized is not about spending forever coming up with complex systems to manage things, but to get a process together that eliminates the need to recreate the wheel every time something comes up.

Thanks for the great reference book!"

Sincerely,"

Scott Hogue, Nashville, TN. USA

"Thanks so much, I look so forward to receiving your emails!  I have finally
finished reading your book for the first time (I know I will read it many
times more!), and I learned so much from you and about myself.  It has
really motivated me to start with baby steps on habits that will help me
become a more organized person which has been a secret passion of mine for
way too long.  So many areas of my life are disorganized and I have looked
at it as such a huge job, I never knew how to start.  I WANT to be
organized, I really do, I just didn't know how-and you have given me that
light at the end of the tunnel-thank you so much for that."

Carolyn,  Marysville, Ontario Canada

"I purchased Yvette's e-mail book...and am I delighted I did! I have always
been an organized gal, but after retiring, I started letting some of those
skills slip a bit...and wasn't terribly pleased with myself. Her book came
into my world by chance, and at a perfect time...and I've learned little
tips to not only get me right back on track and feeling so much better...but
to improve on what I thought I did well in the first place!! I'm picking it
up and reading sections of it several times a day...and have excitedly
called and shared a few of the ideas already with the young women who matter so dearly to me in my life! It's a small investment that reaps giant
rewards!! Do log -on to her site...and treat yourself!"

"Thank you so much for the 7 daily tips via email and for the easy reading in your Organized for Life book which I downloaded last week.  Your friendly writing style helped us to get motivated and every morning and evening I can hear your words in my head … "

Wendy, Hollywood, FL, USA

"Dear Yvette,

I purchased your e-book a couple of weeks ago and I must say you have changed my life!  I have my weekly list of chores to do and when I get something done I mark it off. My house has never been cleaner!!  Thanks again for your wonderful advice."

Lindell, Melbourne, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I really enjoyed your book.  It took me a long time to finish reading it
because I had to keep stopping and putting your suggestions into practice,
but my house is looking a lot better already, and I only bought the book
yesterday."

Linda, Northamptonshire, UK.

"Hi, I have recently purchased your e-book, and while I am still re-reading it, I have already gotten so much benefit from it, it was well worth the money. The main benefit was someone else giving me a 'starting point' to work from. When the amount you have to do is so overwhelming, it's easy to give up before you start, pages 15 & 16 really had an almost instant effect. The overall tone of the book is friendly, humorous and makes sense, so I enjoyed most of it!

I always thought it didn't matter too much the way I dressed in track bottoms all the time, because they were (almost always) clean. Since I started dressing in proper trousers, at the beginning it was, where are you going Mammy? or, how come you're tidying up, is someone coming over? In the space of a week however, they are ACTUALLY helping! And that's just managing the survival mode! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!"

Katrina, Clonmany, Ireland

"Thank you for reading my mind and writing a book that would be so useful for anyone: a mom working in or outside the home, a single person, or a married person without children.  You may just be my saving grace!!!"

Vonda H. Eldridge, North Carolina, USA

"Thankyou so much Yvette,

Most of what you said in your book I have done in the past or have tried to do in the past but I never get to a stage where it is routine. Reading your book has reinforced why it is important to keep it up and make it routine. I am a single mum of 2 boys and as I have just returned to part time work I am desperate to keep some sort of order in our lives. Your book has spurred me on to not only get organised but to stay organised!"

Again, thankyou so much.

Yours sincerely,"

Wendy Moorcroft, Qld Australia

"Yvette yes thank you for the great ebook. I absolutely love the format and
it was so easy to read and understand. Being so straight forward and
practical gives me the drive to start being more organised. I really hope to put your advice into practice and feel better about MYSELF and do it for ME!!!!"

Nicole McDonnell, South Western New South Wales, Australia.

"Hello Ivette!

I bought your book and I been reading. Its very helpful for me.
I been looking for books like yours, but always found books written by single person, that only mention children for accident. I really need a book written by somebody that is mom like me and can understand me, that have the same needs, and daily situations. Thanks God, for you! You are wonderful!"

Beatriz Lopez,
Channelview, Texas, USA

"Yvette

I have enjoyed receiving your newsletters and was very pleased with my recent purchase of your e-book. I printed out your book and keep it by my bed and delve into it every so often to reinforce my awareness of what I am aiming for. Your positive spin on things has helped tremendously too. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book

With kind regards"

Allison Girdwood, Newmains, UK

"Hi Yvette

Congratulations on your book and your concept!  I stumbled across your website - and I'm really glad I did!  I enjoy your writing style - it flows very easily.  You have wonderful simple ideas that almost anyone can implement.  I'm certainly a satisfied customer

Kindest regards,"

Natalie Evans, Sydney Australia

"I really enjoyed the Organized for Life book.  It was like you were sitting in my house writing about my problems directly - I swear you snuck in here at some point in time and seen my mess!!!  After I got finished with the book I grabbed a pile of papers and started clearing out stuff.  I was doing so good I grabbed another box of papers and went through that.

If felt good to see the progress I made in that space of time and did not make myself feel overwhelmed. Usually I would sit and think about what I should do but then I couldn't figure out where to start so I wouldn't do anything.  I have felt like my time is running away from me and knew that I had to do something and do it now!!!  So far your approach is very much helping me - Thanks from a future organized life in progress :)"

Janice, Little Suamico, WI, USA

"Dear Yvette,

Thank you so much for your wonderful book.

My life used to be organised, but slowly over the past three years I have become disorganised and my home has become chaotic. I was not as happy as I used to be, but I didn't know how to change - the clutter in my home and having to rush myself and three children (ages 5, 3 and 1) to get anywhere was really taking a toll on my self esteem.

Your book gave me some simple things to work on that is helping me to gradually get back to the person that I want to be.

I really do have more time to enjoy being with my precious children.

Your book is so simply written that I was able to read it in one day and start the process or becoming an organised person immediately.

Thank you,"

Jessica, Sydney, Australia

"Dear Yvette,

First, I have to tell you that I enjoy your sense of humor and sense of reality. My house is so out of control and has been for a couple of years.  I always blamed it on my work schedule.  It is such a mess that I often ask myself, 'Where do I start?'   Until I read your Ebook, I hadn't started on a task but rather, I had found other things to do that I thought were more important.  The main benefit has been recognizing how my feelings play a role in being disorganized and to start today rather than waiting until everything felt it was the perfect time."

Denise Carmical, Summerville, USA

"I thoroughly enjoy your style of writing. Thanks for your help."

Marlene, Vancouver, WA, Canada

"I have read the book and have really enjoyed it.  I have a shortcut to it on my desktop and use it as reference. Thank you for the book.  I will continue to use it regularly."

"Hi Yvette,

Thank you so much for writing that book.  I can see already that it is
going to give me the tools and guidance I need to help me create the
lifestyle I desire.

Best Regards,"

"Hi Yvette

I am now THOROUGHLY enjoying your book – it is right where I’m at in my life, so thank you!!

Once I downloaded the book it was really fun reading it because I felt like I was ‘kind of’ on track, but with someone ‘on the same page’ as I was.  So … things have already changed a lot, I have a few more areas to gain control of, and then of course the day-to-day maintenance, but I know I’ll get there.  I read the book often – I leave it next to my bed so that I can see it all the time and read bits at bedtime, just to keep me motivated.

Thanks again,

Regards"

BEVERLY, Johannesburg, South Africa

“Dear Yvette,  I have just purchased your ebook and it has been great.  Once again thanks for your wonderful ideas and tips.

Kind Regards”

Jenny Norton, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia

"Dear Yvette

I really found your book most enjoyable. I have a family of 2 kids, 11 & 12 years old, 2 dogs & 3 birds, and quite a hectic career.  What I found most useful is the simplicity of your approach and your emphasis on the feelings. I have started to implement the ideas and it has already made such a difference.
Kind regards"

Adele, Cape Town, South Africa

"Hi Yvette,

I've been searching for a book to tell met the finer details of organizing
your family home - from kids to meal planning etc.  I was not raised in a
family where my mother was actively busy in and around the house and felt
sort of lost when I had to set up my own home and later having kids how to
organize everything.  Its just nice to know that the plain and simple things
that I have done are indeed OK.  Your tips on daily planning also
streamlined my life and that feeling of procrastination from not knowing
if  - what you do is correct so let's rather not do anything or plan anything
in advance- disappeared once I read your book.  Thank you for your
assistance and I'm looking forward to your next book!!!

Also thank you for your monthly e-mail !!

Kind regards"

Mia Richards,  Johannesburg, South Africa

"Hello Yvette,

I would like to thank you for taking the time in writing this book - I am sure it will be of great benefit to others who have purchased it as well. Once again many thanks,"

Lois Hartl, Merbein South, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

Your book seems to talk straight to me.  I feel there is a lot more 'space' in my brain and am far less stressed because I know I'm 'doing something' to make my daily life run smoothly.

Kind regards,

J G, Brisbane, Australia

"Hi Yvette,

I just wanted to tell you how life changing your book has been for me.  I had already spent a fortune on organizing and declutterizing books by the time I found your book. I had even bought a couple of ebooks before yours because they were less expensive but they didn't come anywhere near to providing me with a clear solution for dealing with not only clutter and mess but also housework and when and why you have to do something. I like your direct method that cuts right to what to do, when to do it, and why you do it. I can say this, it was the best $25.00 investment I could have made, because now I can stop buying all those other books, always searching for an answer. And if anybody is interested there is no book like this in the bookstore. The information in your book is unique and for somebody like me priceless! God bless you for taking the time to write this book and helping so many people through it. With your book you have helped me to understand after suffering my whole life with "what do I do next?" Now I actually know what to do next! Thank you again so much for your book.

Sincerely,"

Gerie Dickson, Spartanburg, USA

"Hi Yvette,

I purchased this book as I am training to become a life coach and I read lots of this kind of material.  As an organised person myself your book struck a very familiar chord with me.  As I said I have read many books on this subject and visited different websites too.  The best thing about your book is its simplicity, there are no complicated routines or fancy paperwork involved, just good basic common sense.  As some people have not been brought up to have these basic skills, it tells them all they need to know in an easy to implement way, as well as perhaps adding new ideas for those who are ok in some areas but not in others.  At a very competitive price it is worth the money, well written, and I will definitely recommend it to the appropriate people.

Kind regards,"

Nicola, UK

“Earlier this year I could not continue work due to depressive illness.  As my wife had to work I had to take up the household duties.  Organized for Life was a real help, as I had not really known what I had to do due to living in a haze in the past.  It helped me to get moving, which made things easier because my family could see that life was not going to fall to pieces with me at home.  Right now I am getting ready to go back to work and considering how I can maintain the good habits that Organized for Life helped instil.”

Terry O'Riain, Australia
